Koskisen's plywood products at the Shanghai World Expo

The Shanghai World Expo opened its gates on 1st of May 2010 with 204.000 enthusiastic visitors touring the over 5 square-kilometer area. One of the most visited pavilions has been the Poland's pavilion, where the queues have been about 4 hours long the whole time during the first four exhibition days. Koskisen has had the pleasure of supplying the plywood for Poland's pavilion which serves as a concert hall.

The theme of the Shanghai World Expo is "Better city, Better life". It is the largest world expo in history with almost 200 countries and 46 international organisations confirmed as participating. The target of visitors is to have enormous 70 million visitors!

Koskisen plywood is extremely visible at the expo at Poland's pavillion, which is covered with our products.

The machining of the beautiful flower-like patterns seen in the picture demanded extreme accuracy to ensure that the sections matched up with each other. According to the designers of the pavilion plywood was selected as the material for the outer shell because it fits the architecture of the building. All in all Koskisen has supplied ready-machined ready-to-install panels to the outer shell, interior decoration, a large and impressive dragon and to the flooring. The walling panel delivery contained all in all over 200m3, ie. over 7000 m2 of birch plywood. The panels were machined according to nearly 2000 pcs of different kind of drawings. The panels were matched up together creating nice decoration. In addition to the decorative panels, Koskisen supplied also KoskiCarat panels for flooring.
